People often assume the history of voting rights in the U.S. is a story of steady progress toward equal access to the ballot box. But this assumption is mistaken. Efforts to restrict the franchise have been as common as those to expand it, and the struggle over voting rights continues today—in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square, and on the streets. Become more informed about this struggle and about what you can do to support equal rights.
