Wilderness Orientation: Northern Michigan Adventure—Paddle, Pack, and Pedal

This course travels through Northern Michigan and includes a paddle day on the Pine River, three-day backpacking on South Manitou Island, cycling from Petoskey to Wilderness State Park, and a day on the historic Mackinac Island.

Itinerary

Day 1—Trip orientation, skills clinic, and team building
Day 2—Depart for day on the Pine River; Camp at Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes
Day 3—Ferry to Leland to begin backpacking and beach camping on North Manitou Island
Day 4—Backpacking and beach camping on North Manitou Island
Day 5—AM Backpacking; Ferry Transport; Camp Wilderness State Park
Day 6—Mackinaw Island Day
Day 7—Road Cycling to Petoskey State Park from Wilderness Sate Park; Return to Calvin College by 7 p.m.
