"You Don't Live in a Bubble: What Happens When Your Immune System Encounters Multiple Threats"

Guest Speaker: Ethan Housekamp- Calvin University student

People’s immune systems encounter many different threats every single day. While researchers are starting to investigate how the immune system reacts to different threats, still little is known about the multitude of combinations of different types of threats. The project I worked on investigated how a common environmental toxicant interacts with and modifies the immune system with regard to infections, potentially making us more susceptible to infections.
