Faith and International Development Conference

  • February 7, 2019–February 9, 2019
  • $15-$50

The Faith and International Development Conference is an annual conference hosted by Calvin College for students with hearts for global service. This year our theme is Beyond the Savior Complex: Working and Serving Together. We want those attending FIDC 2019 to be encouraged to fearlessly apply themselves to work and serve together to grow God’s Kingdom in a way that does not perpetuate the savior complex, but rather acknowledges the history, culture, strengths, and unique contexts of the communities they might work with.

This year's conference will feature:

  • Saulo Padilla: U.S. Immigration Education Coordinator, Mennonite Central Committee
  • Sami Awad: Holy Land Trust
  • Charles Owubah: Independent Consultant, previously World Vision
  • Kuki Rokhum: Director of Training and Mobilization, EFICOR
  • Carol Bremer-Bennett: Director, World Renew
  • Kate Kooyman: Immigration Organizer, Ordained Minister for the Christian Reformed Church
