Motown and the African Museum in Detroit

You don't want to miss our membership event to Detroit! We will visit the newly remodeled Motown Museum, where you'll experience curated exhibits, the retro-style offices of Hitsville, USA and Studio A-the legendary recording studio where Motown artists recorded some of the greatest music of all time from 1959-1972. We will also visit the Charles H. Wright African American Museum at Wayne State University, the world's largest permanent exhibit on African-American culture. Our tour includes their limited time King Tut exhibit, with over 120 replicas of the pharaoh's sacred and personal possessions. Permanent exhibits include "And Still We Rise" and "Detroit Performs."

Please choose one of four main lunch items and one of three dessert choices.

Three dessert choices:

peach cobbler

Itinerary:

7:15 AM departure (7:00 gather at bus) Prince Center

9:45 AM first museum

Noon lunch at Bert's Market in the Easter Market

1:45 PM second museum

4:30 PM Stop at Whole Foods to pick up food to go at your own expense for dinner on the bus.

7:30 PM Return Prince Conference Center
