Advice About Law School - a Pre-Law [Lunch] Program

  • Tuesday, October 20, 2020
  • 4:00 PM–5:00 PM

We can't have in-person Pre-Law Lunch Programs at this point, but you can still join us for great sessions virtually!

Our first event in the regular Pre-Law Lunch Programs this year will be at 4pm on September 20, featuring two Calvin alumni for advice about law school! Find out what it is REALLY like to be in law school, things to avoid, tips to succeed, how to decide where to apply -- all through first-hand information from the personal experiences of our two featured guests:

Brooke Bonnema graduated from the University of Michigan Law School this past spring with her J.D. degree. She will be joining the law firm of Mayer Brown in Chicago, and has worked as a legal advocate for Asylum Access, and interned for the Honduras Child Alliance and the Association for a More Just Society. Brooke was a law clerk in the University of Michigan General Counsel's office and was a summer associate at Mayer Brown.

Matt Seafield is at Michigan State University College of Law, where he will receive his J.D./MBA degrees in 2022. Matt is the Staff Editor for the Michigan State Law Review, and has clerked for Chief Judge Scott Dales (Western District of Michigan U.S. Bankruptcy Court) and at Morganti & Co., and has volunteered as a legal assistant for the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center and the Legal Assistance Center.

You must RSVP for this program in order to get the Teams Meeting link. Contact Ellen Hekman at elh4@calvin.edu to reserve your place, and please include your cell phone number for text reminder purposes.
