Working as a Paralegal -- a Pre-Law Program Luncheon

  • Thursday, February 6, 2020
  • 12:30 PM–1:30 PM
  • Political Science Department Confrence Room

Ever wondered about the legal career of a paralegal?  What are the educational requirements?  What are the daily duties?  Where do paralegals work?  Is there a demand in the legal job market for paralegals?

Some individuals work in the paralegal field as a career, while others use the paralegal position to determine whether they actually want to attend law school and pursue a career as an attorney, come to the next Pre-Law Lunch on Thursday, February 6 to hear some perspectives on the advantages of working as a paralegal through the perspectives of three Calvin alums: Kristy DeVos, long-time paralegal at Varnum LLP; James Randall, who worked as a paralegal at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP and just graduated from the UofM law school, and Darlene Santiago, Warner Norcross + Judd career paralegal.  Hear about their career paths, their perspectives and their advice for current Pre-Law Program students over a free lunch!

You must RSVP for this program, since there is limited seating. Contact Margie Styf (mas72@calvin.edu) to reserve your place, and include your cell phone number for text reminder purposes. Lunch is in the Political Science Department Conference Room (2nd floor of DeVos Communication Center in the Political Science Department office).
