Career Break with Dr. David Hooker

Are you interested in social justice issues? International peace initiatives? Diplomacy? Civil discourse? Environmental justice? Come to our Career Break on Tuesday, April 10 from 3:30 to 4:30 to meet with Dr. David Hooker. 

Dr. Hooker, currently an Associate Professor with the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, is an expert in post-conflict community building, environmental justice, public policy and social justice, multi-party conflicts, negotiation and mediation. He has worked with communities, governments, international NGOs and civil society organizations on post-conflict community building, environmental justice, and other issues of public policy and social justice and has consulted around the world. Dr. Hooker is also a lawyer who served as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Georgia.

Hooker is a graduate of Morehouse College in Georgia, has his MPH and MPA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and his law degree and MDiv from Emory University. His PhD if from Tilburg University in the Netherlands.

Dr. Hooker will join us for a Career Break on Tuesday, April 10 in the Political Science Department Conference Room (2nd floor of the DeVos Communication Building in the Political Science Department Office Suite).  There is limited seating available for this event, so you MUST RSVP to reserve a place -- email Ellen Hekman at elh4@calvin.edu to save a place.
