Green Burials: Redesigning the End, by Annica and Peter Quakenbush. In-person only - Location: Science Building 010
Annica and Peter Quakenbush are planning a conservation burial grounds for green burial in Newaygo, Michigan. Their mission is to establish Michigan’s first conservation burial ground, which is essentially a nature preserve supported by green burials. It will provide a simple environmentally positive interment option in West Michigan for those wishing for a beautiful legacy and a sustainable resting place. The 20-acre forest is within the bounds of the Manistee National Forest. Join us as we learn from the Quakenbushs what is involved and the growing popularity of this burial option.
Note: The Science Building may not have parking close by. Please plan on parking closer to Burton St, the Covenant Fine Arts Center, or in the parking lot just north of the Spoelhof Fieldhouse. We will have someone at the building’s main entrance that faces the lawn providing directions the day of the lecture.
