On Friday, May 10, 2013, Calvin College will host its third-annual Chick-Fil-A Leadercast. The one-day leadership event features simulcast sessions with world-renowned speakers addressing significant leadership issues.
This year's lineup features Mike Krzyzewski, the winningest coach in the history of Division I basketball; former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, and productivity expert David Allen, who is the best-selling author of "Getting Things Done." The unifying theme for this year's event is "Strengthening your leadership by simplifying your life."
"Anybody that's committed to developing their own leadership capacity to be people of influence at work and in their communities will benefit from investing a day in this global event," said Bob Eames, director of Calvin's Center for Innovation in Business (CCIB).The leadercast is an endeavor of the CCIB, which creates and supports programs which foster educational excellence, promote experiential learning and engage with broader business communities.
"The center is helping to make our business program the best in Christian higher education," said Eames. "Engaging God's world means doing things, not just thinking about things. We're trying to provide innovative learning opportunities for men and women to impact the world for Christ. We also want to engage the broader business community in ways that are consistent with the mission of Calvin College."
Organizers are hoping to welcome 500 business professionals from throughout west Michigan to this year's event. Early-bird registration rates are available online through April 1, 2013.
