The award-winning January Series of Calvin College is celebrating its silver anniversary. From Wednesday, January 4, through Tuesday, January 24, 2012, Calvin College will continue its long tradition of bringing one of the nation's leading lecture and cultural arts series to west Michigan and abroad.
The 2012 January Series features a lineup of nationally-acclaimed speakers, including a former advisor to four presidents, a Broadway actress, one of the world's foremost New Testament scholars and one of National Geographic's 10 Adventurers of the Year, to name a few.
The experts will cover a wide range of today's most relevant topics, offering bipartisan insights into the Obama administration, the divided Congress and the 2012 election. They'll also discuss the future of the Middle East and the future of Christianity in America, share thoughts on small farms and local food systems, and much more.
The January Series is expanding its remote webcasts to 34 locations continent-wide in 2012. For a complete list of remote sites and a lineup of the award-winning speakers, visit the January Series website at www.calvin.edu/january .
The January Series lectures will be held in the Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. EST Monday through Friday. Admission is free, and all talks are open to the public.
