Political Science prof given "Founders Award"

Corwin Smidt, director of the Paul Henry Institute and professor of political science at Calvin, was given the "Founders Award" at the 42nd-annual meeting of the Michigan Conference of Political Scientists held October 21-22, 2010.

The award is given to educators who make outstanding contributions to the discipline of political science and the association. These contributions include participation, leadership, scholarship, work and support for the enhancement of the study of political science.

Previously, Smidt has served both as president and as a board member of the Michigan Conference of Political Scientists.
