Special Olympics Michigan is holding their 2009 Spring Games this Saturday, May 2 on the campus of Calvin College. Nearly 500 athletes with intellectual disabilities will be assisted by 250 Calvin College student chaperones as they rotate to event sites, receive awards and watch their friends compete.
The athletes will compete in a number of events, including: track and field, aquatics, bocce ball, gymnastics and horseshoes. Opening ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. near the Huizenga Tennis and Track Center.
