October 29, 2007 == MEDIA ADVISORY
For the 13th consecutive year Calvin College will offer a safe and fun Halloween alternative on October 31. And local food pantries will also benefit.
The Light in the Night celebration at Calvin will be held from 6 to 8:30 pm on Halloween evening at the Calvin apartments, home to many of the college's upperclass students.
Children from all over Grand Rapids will come to Calvin for trick-or-treating, carnival games and lots of fun.
Admission is one canned good per child with all proceeds going to local food pantries.
Each year Calvin entertains anywhere from 700-1,000 area kids during the event, and the candy that is given out at Calvin comes from donations that Calvin faculty and staff make in the weeks leading up to Halloween.
