April 25, 2007 == MEDIA REMINDER
Calvin College will host James Ransome, an award-winning African American
artist and illustrator for a special book signing and reception on Thursday,
April 26 from 7 to 9 pm at its Center Art Gallery.
The event is free and open to all.
Ransome's work, which is currently on display at Calvin as part of an
exhibition which features over 50 original works of art, has been hailed as
extraordinary, reflecting both his childhood experiences growing up in the
rural South and his deep reverence for the black struggle for justice and
equality.
