Calvin Grad to Speak on Religious Conflict

The Paul B Henry Institute for the Study of Christianity and Politics at
Calvin College will present a timely talk on Thursday, March 30.

Dr. Gary Bouma, a 1963 graduate of Calvin, will speak on "Road Rage on the Way
to Heaven: Religious Resurgence and Rising Religious Conflict." The lecture
will be held in the Commons Lecture Hall at 3:30 p.m. and is free and open to
all.

Bouma is the UNESCO Chair in Interreligious and Intercultural Relations-Asia
Pacific and a professor of sociology at Monash University in Australia. He
also is an Anglican priest and has served in professional positions in eight
different religious denominations.

His research focuses primarily on the interaction of religion and society in
western cultures, and he is a recipient of the Australian Intercultural
Society's (AIS) Peace Award for Interfaith Relations.
