James K.A. Smith is an associate professor of philosophy at Calvin and
director of the school's Seminars in Christian Scholarship. His honored book
is titled "Introducing Radical Orthodoxy: Mapping a Post-Secular Theology."
It has been heralded as "a sympathetic though not uncritical account of an
important new theological sensibility that is clearer and more succinct than
that given by some of the movement's founders."
Radical Orthodoxy, says Smith, is a theological movement - -or better,
sensibility - -operating across many Christian traditions, in dialogue with
other non-Christian traditions, and working alongside other academic
disciplines such as politics, economics, the natural sciences, social and
cultural theory.
