Quintet of Calvin Professors to Retire after 185 Years of Service!

When Calvin College celebrates Commencement on May 22 some 900 seniors will
graduate.

But a quintet of professors will mark the official conclusions to their
careers at Commencement as well. Together those five have served Calvin for a
combined 185 years, an average of 37 years each! Retiring from Calvin at the
end of the 2003-2004 school year are:

Professor of Music John Hamersma (50 years)
Professor of Physical Education Marvin Zuidema (43 years)
Professor of Computer Science Larry Nyhoff (41 years)
Professor of Geolog Davis Young (26 years)
Student Academic Services counselor Beverly Morrison (25 years)
