Great with Child: Reflections on Faith, Fullness, and Becoming a Mother
(Tarcher/Putnam) has been named one of the best religion books of 2002 by
Publishers Weekly. The book, by Calvin professor of English Debra Rienstra, is
one of 15 so honored in that category.

    For the whole list see
    http://publishersweekly.reviewsnews.com/index.asp?layout=article&articleid=CA257022

The book is an almost 300-page documentation of Rienstra's third, and final,
pregnancy. It is a wide-ranging recounting of a journey that began with
thinking about becoming pregnant and concluded, in the book, with the baby's
    first birthday. It's a combination of a devotional, a first-person pregnancy
account and more with pregnancy as the pivot point, while Shakespeare, the
Bible, Sesame Street, C.S. Lewis, Star Trek (she's a self-confessed Trekkie),
medieval art and more all weave in and out of the narrative at their pleasure.
