    November 1, 2002 == MEDIA ADVISORY

    A trio of Calvin College professors has been watching the run to the November 5
    elections with careful scrutiny. And they stand ready to assist local media
    with Election Night coverage. Doug Koopman, Corwin Smidt and James Penning are
    all experts on state and local politics, and also can comment on the most
    significant national races.

    All three will be available in person on Election Night at an event the Calvin
    political science department is hosting in its new DeVos Communication Center.
    From 8 to 10 p.m. political science professors and students will gather in the
    lobby of the DeVos Center where four plasma screens will broadcast the evening's
    political coverage. There media can interview both any of the three professors
    and political science majors at Calvin College.

    Alternatively the three professors also can be reached by phone. Calll
