The Calvin pedestrian bridge is indeed 380 feet long. But that's not four
football fields, as I said in my earlier release, since a football field is 100
yards long (except in the CFL where I believe it's 110 and the end zones go on
    forever).

I had the football field analogy in my initial release and then decided to
change it to basketball since Calvin has a really good basketball program but no
football at all. And since a regulation basketball court (which Calvin has) is
94 feet long, the math works almost perfectly. But alas I erred and mixed the
two metaphors and the result was mathematical chaos. For which I humbly
    apologize.

So, to recap, the new bridge at Calvin is four basketball courts long. It's
also a football field plus the end zones (more or less) long (except in Canada).
     It's a 9-iron long. It's a Barry Bonds home run long. It's a couple of hockey
rinks long. But it's not four football fields long . . .
