The victory wrapped up a five-day trip through Tennessee for Calvin (4-6). Wednesday's doubleheader was played at Smokies Park, home of the Double A Tennessee Smokies minor league club. After the game, Rypel gave a brief team speech to the Knights on the team bus. "I joked and told them I hope it doesn't take me as long to get to 200 wins as it took me to get to 100 wins," said Rypel. "The guys had a great time playing in a professional baseball park today. Our trip as a whole has been a really good experience. Every one of the opponents we played had a winning record. That competition will only help us as we head into our league schedule."

Calvin is scheduled to open its MIAA campaign on Saturday when it hosts Trine University at 1 p.m. at Calvin Field.
