MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING
The All-MIAA men's and women's swimming and diving teams were announced earlier this week. The Calvin men landed five individuals on the All-MIAA team while the women's team had six honorees headlined by juniors Abby Van Harn (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) and Sarah Bradley (Wheaton, Il./Wheaton North HS) who received MIAA Most Valuable Swimmer and MIAA Most Valuable Diver awards respectively.

Finally, Calvin's Venema Aquatic Center will be the site of an NCAA III Diving Regional Friday and Saturday with action beginning Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and continuing later Friday evening and again on Saturday. MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD
Calvin will host the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday inside the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex. The bulk of the events will take place inside the Huizenga Tennis and Track Center on the Sturrus Track with throwing events taking place inside the Hoogenboom Health and Recreation Center. One of the athletes to watch for the Calvin women's team will be junior Jenna Dyksen of Hawthorne, New Jersey. The All-MIAA women's basketball teams were released Thursday afternoon. Calvin senior Anna Timmer (Caledonia, Mich./South Christian HS) and junior Ali Spayde (Lewis Center, Oh./Worthington Christian HS) were named to the All-MIAA first team while junior Bre Luurtsema (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) was named to the All-MIAA second team. MEN'S BASKETBALL

Denney was the 2017 MIAA rebounding champion, averaging nearly 8.5 rebounds a game in league play. SOFTBALL
The Calvin softball team will open its 2017 season under first-year head coach Becky Hilgert this weekend in a tournament at the Superior Dome on the campus of Northern Michigan University. Calvin will face Edgewood College (Wisc.) and Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Friday and Lakeland College (Wisc.) and Carroll College (Wisc.) on Saturday. MEN'S SOCCER
The 2016 Calvin men's soccer team concluded in early December but post-season accolades are still rolling in. On Tuesday, D3soccer.com announced Calvin sophomore Trent Vegter (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian HS) as its 2016 Defender of the Year. Vegter was also named to the D3soccer.com All-America first team while senior teammate Isky Van Doorne (Calgary, AB/Western Canada HS) was named to the D3soccer.com All-America second team.
