Colton Wolfe Named MIAA Position Player of the Week in Baseball;
Anna Timmer Named Women's DIII News Honorable Mention All-American

BASEBALL

For the second time in his career, Calvin junior Colton Wolfe has been named the MIAA Position Player of the week in baseball.

Wolfe, a junior from Eaton Rapids, took position player honors after producing at least one hit and one RBI in each of Calvin's six games to help the Knights to a 4-2 record last week. Wolfe posted a .429 average with nine hits. Six of those hits went for extra bases including three home runs. He drilled a home run, triple and double to produce five RBI in an 8-2 victory over Utica, to close to within a single away from the cycle on March 14. The infielder ended the week with 13 RBI, seven runs scored and a slugging percentage of 1.048. Wolfe also participated in four double plays on defense to go with five assists and no errors.

Calvin returns to action on Friday when it hosts Trine in a doubleheader at 2 p.m. in the conference opener for both teams.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Calvin College junior Anna Timmer has added one more award to her season-long list of honors. A native of Caledonia and a graduate of Grand Rapids South Christian High School, Timmer has been named a Women's DIII News Honorable Mention All-American.

The Women's DIII News All-America teams were released earlier today.

A forward, Timmer Timmer averaged 14.2 points and 7.6 rebounds a game while connecting on 57.4 percent of her field goal attempts this season. She also averaged 2.2 steals and 1.6 assists-per-game while connecting on 33.3 percent of her three-point field goal attempts.
A first team All-MIAA selection this year, Timmer notched seven double-doubles this year. In a 76-64 win over Olivet in February, she tossed in a career-high 26 points. She was a two-time MIAA Player of the Week and finished second in the MIAA scoring race.

Timmer was recently named to the D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region second team.

Calvin finished the year with an overall record of 20-6 as the Knights hit the 20-win plateau for the 10th time in the last 13 years. The Knights finished second in the MIAA regular season standings with a 14-2 conference record.
