WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

"We really weren't looking at the level of competition coming today," said head coach Dan Gelderloos. "We were more focused on ourselves coming into this meet. First of all, we wanted to make sure we took care of our freshmen and get them off to a good start. Second, we wanted to work on some values that we talked about in practice yesterday, about what a good team look like and I feel we executed that today."
Freshman Anna Serino (Pinckney, Mich./Pinckney) had a time of 11:04.96 in the 1000 freestyle, taking fourth place. Serino also had a fourth-place finish in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:02.09.

Sophomore Abby VanHarn (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) took third place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.18. VanHarn also finished in fourth in the 200 freestyle, hitting the wall at 1:58.76.

Sophomore Nicole Langerak (Jenison, Mich./Jenison) was the top performer for the Knights on the 1-meter boards with a score of 241.05. She also had the highest 3-meter score for Calvin at 219.10.

The 400 freestyle relay finished the night taking first place. The team of senior Megan Schroder(Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian), sophomore Rachel Mattson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Huron), Anna Serino and Abby VanHarn finished with a time of 3:41.30.
