Women's Basketball To Host NCAA III Regional Tournament - Men's Basketball To Travel to Mount Union for Regional Play;
Amanda Davio Named MIAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

EDITOR'S NOTE: The Calvin men's and women's basketball teams are both in NCAA III Tournament play this week. There are 19 Division III schools that have both the men's and women's basketball teams playing in the NCAA tournament. Washington U. has a team in both tournament fields, along with Amherst, Babson, Baruch, Calvin, Catholic, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, DePauw, John Carroll, Regis, St. John Fisher, St. Norbert, St. Thomas, Salisbury, Scranton, Skidmore, Spalding, Stockton and Virginia Wesleyan. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Calvin women's basketball team will host a four-team NCAA III Regional this weekend at Van Noord Arena.

Calvin (27-0) will face Baldwin-Wallace (22-6) in a first round game Friday night at 7:30 p.m. (EDT) with UW-Oshkosh (24-3) facing North Central (22-5) in a 5 p.m. game on Friday.

The winning teams out of Friday's games will meet in the second round Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at Van Noord Arena.

Calvin will be making its 16th appearance in the NCAA III Tournament including its eighth under current head coach John Ross. Calvin is 18-15 all-time in NCAA III Tournament play. The Knights claimed a bid to the NCAA III Tournament by winning the MIAA Tournament title this past Saturday with a 77-73 victory over Hope.

Baldwin-Wallace advanced to the NCAA III Tournament by winning the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament title this past Saturday.

This will mark the third meeting between Calvin and Baldwin-Wallace in NCAA III Tournament play with Calvin defeating the Yellow Jackets 58-55 in the first round of the 1997 tournament and 75-67 in the second round of the 1999 tournament.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Calvin men's basketball team is headed to the campus of Mount Union College for a first round NCAA III Tournament game March 6. The Knights (21-6) will take on Oswego State of New York (19-9) in a first round game at 5:30 p.m. Host Mount Union (22-6) will take on Neumann College (17-10) in the game to follow March 6.

Calvin and Oswego State will be meeting for the first time in men's basketball. Calvin gained a bid to the NCAA III Tournament by winning the MIAA Tournament title this past weekend. Oswego State advanced to the NCAA III Tournament by winning the SUNYAC Tournament title this weekend to gain an automatic bid.

Calvin will be making its 20th trip to the NCAA III Tournament including its ninth under current head coach Kevin Vande Streek. Calvin is 33-21 all-time in NCAA III Tournament play.

Tickets will be on sale on site 90 minutes before each game - $6 for adults, $3 for students

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

FREELAND, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin attacker/midfielder Amanda Davio<http://calvinknights.com/sports/wlax/2014-15/bios/davio_amanda_12f6> its Offensive Player of the Week in women's lacrosse for matches played through March 1.
Davio, a freshman from Okemos (Okemos HS), scored five goals, won four draw controls, scooped up three ground balls and caused a turnover in the Knights' 14-12 nonconference win over Aurora. She is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
