Capel and TenHarmsel Named to All-MIAA Women's Soccer Team;
Volleyball Opens NCAA III Tournament Play Thursday at Carthage College;
Jordan Brink Named Preseason All-American by D3hoops.com
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Calvin College juniors Paige Capel and Taylor Ten Harmsel have both been named to the All-MIAA women's soccer first team released earlier today.
A native of Holland and a graduate of Holland Christian High School, Ten Harmsel is receiving All-MIAA first team accolades for the third straight year.
Ten Harmsel tallied three goals and five assists this year including two goals and five assists in league play. She finished tied for third in the MIAA in assists in conference games.
A forward, Capel is from Hudsonville and a graduate of Hudsonville Unity Christian High School. She is receiving All-MIAA first team honors for the second straight year.
Capel had eight goals, four assists and 20 points league games this year as she led the MIAA in points, finished tied for fourth in goals and tied for sixth in assists.
Capel is currently ranked 12th on the Calvin career list for assists (19), 13th in points (85) and 15th in goals (33).
The Calvin women's soccer team finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 7-10-2 and a conference mark of 6-8-2 that placed the Knights in sixth place in the MIAA standings.
VOLLEYBALL
The top-ranked Calvin women's volleyball team (27-3) will take on UW-Oshkosh (31-7) in a first round NCAA III Tournament tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. (EST) at Carthage College.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Calvin College senior Jordan Brink has received another preseason accolade. Brink was named to the D3hoops.com preseason All-America third team earlier this afternoon.
A native of Dyer, Indiana, Brink is coming off a season where he averaged 15.6 points a game. A graduate of Illiana Christian High School, Brink was a first team All-MIAA selection in 2014 as well as a D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region third team choice.
He is a senior captain on this year's Calvin men's basketball team that is scheduled to open its 2014-15 campaign Saturday afternoon at home against Anderson University at 3 p.m. at Van Noord Arena.
