III Women's Volleyball;
Women's Basketball Team Continues to Hold Number-Three Spot in National Polls

VOLLEYBALL

TOWSON, Md. – Senior outside hitter Lizzie Kamp of Calvin College leads the
2012 Capital One Academic All-America® Division III Volleyball Team, as
selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Kamp has been chosen as the Capital One Academic All-America® of the Year
award winner for Division III volleyball and also to the Capital One Academic
All-America first team.

The Capital One Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being
financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance
structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for
the 2012-13 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.

An accounting major with a 3.69 G.P.A., Kamp is making her second appearance
on the Capital One Academic All-America® Volleyball team after earning second
team honors as a junior in 2011. A native of Orland Park, Ill., Kamp followed
in her older sister’s footsteps when she was named as the 2012 Division III
National Player of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association
(AVCA). A two-time AVCA All-American, Kamp led the Knights to a 33-3 record and
a runner-up finish in the NCAA Championship Division III Tournament.

This marks the second straight year that a member of the Kamp family has been
named as the Capital One Academic All-America® of the Year for Division III
volleyball. Her older sister, Rebecca Kamp of Calvin won the award last year.

A three-time selection to the All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic
Association first team, Lizzie Kamp was honored as the league’s Player of the
Year in 2012. She finished the season with 528 kills and ranked eighth in the
nation with 4.43 kills per set. She was also eighth in points-per-set (4.87).

Calvin has now had four student-athletes receive Capital One Academic
All-America of the Year awards. Chris Knoester was the first to be so honored,
receiving the award in men's basketball in 1994 with Joel Klooster doing so in
men's track/cross country in 2002. Rebecca Kamp then achieved the honor in
volleyball a year ago with sister Lizzie joining the exclusive club this year.

Calvin has now had its athletes receive CoSIDA (Capital One) Academic
All-America accolades 97 times including 66 times in the last 16 years. Calvin
currently ranks eighth on the all-time NCAA Division III list for Academic
All-Americans.
