MIAA ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL ANNOUNCED

The 2010-11 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Academic
Honor Roll has been announced by Commissioner David Neilson and 111 Calvin

Academic Honor Roll program was initiated in 1990 to recognize students at
MIAA member colleges who excel both in athletics and in the classroom.

This year's Honor Roll includes several students who achieved the distinction
four consecutive years.
Of the students, 10 are from Calvin.

The 10 Calvin scholar-athletes named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for a
fourth straight year are seniors Monica Bressler (Sanduskey, OH/Perkins HS),

Wayne, IN/Concordia Lutheran HS), Carolyn Nelson (Milan, MI/Milan HS), Melissa
Oosterhouse (Grand Rapids, MI/Grand Rapids Christian HS), Elaine Schnabel

During the 2010-11 academic year, the Calvin volleyball team achieved a
cumulative team grade point average of 3.451.

Led by head coach Amber Warners, the Knights captured their first-ever
national title, finishing the 2010 season with an overall record of 32-4 that
included a share of the MIAA regular season title. Of the 17 players on the
Calvin women's volleyball varsity roster last fall, nine received MIAA Academic
Honor Roll distinction for achieving a 3.50 grade point average or above during
the 2010-11 academic year.
