Women's Basketball Team Receives at-Large Bid to NCAA III Tournament;
Men's Basketball Team Does Not Receive Bid
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Calvin women’s basketball team has gained an at-large (Pool c) bid to the
NCAA III Tournament. The Knights (24-4) will journey to DePere, Wisconsin, to
face host St. Norbert (22-3) in a first round game Friday night. Calvin will be
part of a four-team regional field at St. Norbert with UW-Stevens Point (21-6)
set to take on Minnesota-Morris (19-7) in Friday’s other first round game.
Calvin will be making its 12th trip to the NCAA III Tournament, its fourth
under head coach John Ross and its first since the 2006-07 season. DePere,
Wisconsin, is just over an hour away from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, hometown of
John Ross. Ross is a 1990 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Calvin is 14-11 all-time in NCAA III Tournament play and has reached the
national quarterfinals twice (2005 and 2007) - both under the leadership of
John Ross. Calvin is 6-3 in NCAA III Tournament play under Ross.
