Women's Basketball Moves Up In National Rankings - Prepares for Rivalry Showdown With Hope
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Calvin women's basketball team has moved up in the latest set of national rankings as the Knights are ranked ninth in the most recent d3hoops.com Top 25 poll and ninth in the USA Today/ESPN Division III poll conducted by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The Knights were ranked 10th in both national polls a week ago.
Calvin is currently 18-2 overall and 10-1 in the MIAA. Calvin will host rival Hope Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Calvin Van Noord Arena in a showdown for first place in the MIAA standings. Ranked fourth in both national polls, Hope will carry an overall record of 18-1 and a league mark of 10-0 into Wednesday's contest.
In the first meeting of the year between the two teams, Hope defeated Calvin 73-58 in a game played on January 19 inside Hope's DeVos Fieldhouse.
