Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Open Van Noord Arena With Victories Over Trine

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The men's and women's basketball teams opened varsity play inside the Van Noord Arena Wednesday night with victories over Trine. The games were played in front of an audience of 4,395 fans.

In the women's game, Calvin defeated Trine 71-65 in double-overtime to snap a three-game MIAA losing streak.

In the men's game, Calvin defeated Trine 77-69. The Knights are now 13-0 in MIAA openers under head coach Kevin Vande Streek.
