Men's Golf Remains in Sixth Place of MIAA Standings

MEN'S GOLF

HOLLAND -- The Calvin men's golf team remains in sixth place in the overall MIAA standings after three league outings. The Knights took sixth at a league outing hosted by Hope at the Wuskowhan Golf Club on Monday with a team score of 322 strokes. Calvin is in sixth place in the overall team standings with 972 strokes, 30 strokes behind fifth place Tri-State and 30 strokes ahead of seventh place Adrian.

Calvin's top finisher on Monday was freshman Jess Hendriksma (Grand Rapids Christian HS) who fired a round of 78. Freshman Eric Doezema (Grand Rapids Christian HS) was next with a round of 80 followed by junior Brad Tindall (Vicksburg HS) with a round of 81. Completing Calvin's top-five were sophomores Kyle Harvey (Willard, OH) and Jon Kuipers (Grand Rapids Christian HS) with scores of 83.

Hope took first place as a team on Monday with a score of 292 strokes, five strokes ahead of second place Olivet. Olivet remains in first place in the overall team standings, holding a slim five-stroke lead over Hope.

Mark McClaughlin of Albion was Monday's medalist with a score of 70.

Calvin returns to action on Thursday when it competes at a league outing hosted by Kalamazoo at the Milham Park Golf Club.
