Calvin Hockey Team Falls to Northern Colorado In Fifth Place Game of National
Tournament

FORT WAYNE, IN -- Calvin closed out its run through the ACHA Division III
National Tournament with an 8-5 loss to Northern Colorado (20-1-0) Saturday
afternoon. The Knights finished the 16-team tournament in sixth place.
Making its fifth consecutive appearance in the national tournament, Calvin
closes out its season with a 16-12 overall mark.

Despite being outshot 57-35, Calvin was able to make a a game of it behind
three goals from junior J.D. Lussier (Sherbrooke, PQ) and single goals from
junior Emery Lovse (Grand Rapids Christian HS) and sophomore Lucas
Huyser-Wierenga (Edmonton, AB).

Collecting two assists apiece for Calvin were sophomore Jeff DeKorne (Grand
Rapids Christian HS) and senior Jon VanderHoek (St. Thomas, ON). Picking up
lone assists for the Knights were sophomore Eric Baker (Strathroy, ON) and
freshman Caleb Barthel (Red Deer, AB).

Junior John Singleton (Highlands Ranch, CO) collected 49 saves in defeat for
the Knights.
