WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

For the third time in her career, Calvin College senior Becky Weima has been
named Division III Swimmer of the Week by Collegeswimming.com

A native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School,
Weima helped lead the Calvin women's swimming and diving team to its third
consecutive MIAA title this past weekend as she took first place in three
events and swam on four winning relay teams.

She was later named the MIAA's Most Outstanding Swimmer for the fourth
consecutive year.

Weima was a member of Calvin's 200 freestyle relay team that started last
week's MIAA Championships off with a bang, winning the race with a MIAA record,
Calvin record and NCAA III automatic qualifying time (1:34.39). The time is the
fastest in Division III women's swimming this year.

Weima led off the relay with an NCAA III B' cut qualifying
time (50 freestyle of 23.67). She then captured her third
consecutive MIAA title in the 500 freestyle (5:01.21),
winning with an NCAA III automatic qualifying time. Weima
also had a big night, winning the 200 freestyle (1:50.56)
for the fourth consecutive year. Weima won the event with
an NCAA III automatic qualifying time.

Weima captured the 100 freestyle (52.19) title for the fourth consecutive year
and then anchored Calvin's 400 freestyle relay team to an MIAA record and NCAA
III automatic qualifying time
(3:29.12), breaking the previous record by more than a full
second.
