A native of Caledonia and a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School,
Weima captured three individual national titles at the 2006 NCAA III Swimming
and Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the national meet, Weima
won the 50, 100 and 200 freestle events, setting a national record in the 200
freestyle (1:49.02) in the process. She was also a part of four All-America
relay teams at the meet, helping Calvin finish sixth as a team for its
highest-ever national finish. Earlier in the year, Weima was named the MIAA's
Most Valuable Swimmer for the third straight year.

Diemer also hails from Caledonia and is a graduate of Grand Rapids South
Christian High School and of the University of Michigan. This past fall, Diemer
led the Calvin men's cross country team to its third national title in the last
four years including its fourth overall. Behind six All-America (top-35)
individual finishes, Calvin finished the national meet with 37 points for the
second-lowest score in NCAA III men's cross country history. Diemer was then
named Division III National Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his
career. In addition, Diemer took over the reins of the Calvin women's cross
country program this year and led the women's team to a third place finish at
the NCAA III Championships with the Knights missing a national title by just
five points as had three All-America (top-35) runners.

WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM RECEIVES TEAM ETHICS GOLD AWARD FROM NATIONAL SOCCER
COACHES ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA

For the third consecutive year, the Calvin women's soccer team has received the
Team Ethics Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and,
for the first time, Calvin has received the award at the Gold level. The NSCAA
Team Ethics Award is given to collegiate soccer teams that exhibit fair play,
sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game, as reflected by the
number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees
throughout the season. To receive the award at either the Bronze, Silver or
Gold level, teams must complete the season without a red card. The Bronze (Team
Ethics) Award is given to teams that receive a cumulative of 10 yellow cards or
fewer. The Silver Award is given to teams that receive five yellow cards or
fewer while the Gold Award is given to teams that go the entire year without a
yellow card.

Under the direction of head coach Mark Recker, the Calvin women's soccer team
is one of just seven collegiate soccer teams to receive the Gold Award. Recker
will accept the award tommorow afternoon at the NSCAA convention in
Indianapolis.

Under Recker's leadership, the Calvin women's soccer team finished the 2006
season with a 22-0-1 record, reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA III
Tournament. The Knights also captured their second straight MIAA title and
their first-ever MIAA Tournament crown. Calvin's final victory total
established a new Calvin single-season record for victories. The Knights also
led all of NCAA III women's soccer in winning percentage.

"It's a great honor to receive this (Team Ethics) award," said Recker. "One of
our goals as a team each year is to play hard but also to play fair. This award
reflects that goal and we are very grateful to receive it."
