FOUR CALVIN ATHLETES RECEIVE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT IV HONORS IN AT-LARGE
DIVISION

The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV teams in the men's/women's
at-large divisions have been released and four Calvin athletes have been so
honored. Named to the men's at-large team in the college division from Calvin
are senior Rafael Siebenschein and sophomore Ricky Tilton. Named to the women's
at-large team in the college division from Calvin are senior Kim Bosscher and
junior Becky Weima.

All four individuals now advance to the national ballot and are eligible for
Academic All-America consideration.

The college division of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program
includes NCAA II, NCAA III and NAIA schools. The Academic All-District and
All-America teams are selected by the College Sports Information Director's
Association of America (CoSIDA). To be eligible for nomination, an individual
must be a starter or a key reserve with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20.
The at-large division includes the sports of of golf, tennis, swimming, water
polo, ice hockey, field hockey and lacrosse.

Siebenschein is a native of Wurenlos, Switzerland. He graduated from Lynden
Christian High School. He also graduated from Calvin this past weekend with a
double major of computer science and economics while carrying a 3.85 grade
point average. A member of the Calvin men's tennis team, Siebenschein was a
two-time second team All-MIAA selection including a second team choice this
spring while playing at No. 2 singles. Siebenschein was the MIAA runner-up at
No. 2 singles in 2006 and the MIAA runner-up at No. 3 singles in 2005. He
finished his Calvin career with a singles record of 46-14 and a doubles mark of
45-17.

An ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2005, Siebenschein has also been a two-time member of
the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Tilton is from Gap, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Lancaster Christian High
School.

Also a member of the Calvin men's tennis team, Tilton stepped in at the No. 1
singles slot this spring and posted a 12-10 record while earning a spot on the
All-MIAA first team. Tilton took fourth at No. 1 singles at the 2006 MIAA
Tournament. As a freshman in 2005, he posted an 18-5 mark at No. 4 doubles and
was the runner-up at No. 4 singles at the conference tournament. In addition,
Tilton was ranked 27th in the Central Region rankings this spring.

Also an ITA Scholar-Athlete and a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll in
2005, Tilton carries a grade point average of 3.97 while majoring in biology
and Spanish. He plans to attend medical school after graduation.

Tilton and Siebenschien also helped the Calvin men's tennis team finish tied
for second in the final MIAA standings and gain a No. 11 ranking in the Central
Regional rankings.

A member of the Calvin women's tennis team, Bosscher hails from Grandville and
is a graduate of Calvin Christian High School. A four-year member of the Calvin
women's tennis program, Bosscher compiled a career singles record of 51-20.
This spring, she posted a record of 19-2 at No. 6 singles, establishing a
Calvin single-season record for victories. She also captured the MIAA title at
No. 6 singles after earning runner-up honors at No. 6 singles at the 2005
conference tournament. She also helped Calvin finish second in the final team
standings and earn a No. 14 ranking in the Central Regional rankings.

Bosscher was graduated from Calvin last weekend with a degree in mathematics.
She finished with a 3.89 grade point average and has already accepted a
position as an actuary with a firm in Grand Rapids. Bosscher is also a
three-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and an eight-time member of
the Calvin Dean's List.
Weima hails from Caledonia and is a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High
School. Although only a junior, Weima has already become the most decorated
swimmer in Calvin history.

During her three years at Calvin, Weima has captured four individual national
titles, winning the 200 yard freestyle at the 2005 NCAA III Championships and
then winning national crowns in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200
freestyle at the 2006 national meet. Her efforts helped Calvin finish 10th at
the NCAA III Championships in 2005 and tied for sixth in 2006. The two finishes
are the top two national team finishes in Calvin swimming and diving history.

A 15-time NCAA III All-American, Weima has also been named the MIAA's Most
Outstanding Swimmer three consecutive years and is also a three-time All-MIAA
selection. In addition, she has been named the Division III Swimmer of the Week
twice in her career by Collegeswimming.com. She is the NCAA III record holder
in the 200 freestyle (1:49.02), is the MIAA record holder in the 50, 100, 200
and 500 freestyle events and the Calvin record holder in the 50, 100, 200, 500
and 1,000 freestyle events as well as in the 100 butterfly.

At Calvin, Weima is a Secondary Education major with an emphasis in Spanish and
carries a 3.68 grade point average. She is also a two-time member of the MIAA
Academic Honor Roll. Weima has also spent considerable time volunteering as a
tutor at Wyoming Godrey Lee Middle School and spent part of her summer in 2005,
working as a volunteer in a mountain village in Honduras.
