MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD
NAPERVILLE, IL -- Calvin College sophomore Eric DeVries (Hudsonville/Unity
Christian HS) closed out two rugged days of competition in the decathlon with a
personal best score of 5,658 points at the North Central College Multi-Event
Invitational. The score surpassed his previous best of 5,404 points
established three weeks ago at the Hillsdale Relays.
His total was just 350 points away from an NCAA III provisional qualifying
total, allowing him to finish his 2005 campaign on an upbeat note.
Listed below are the individual event performances for DeVries over the last
two days:
day one:
100m - 12.03
LJ - 18-06
SP - 36-00
HJ - 5-09.75
400m - 53.98
day two:
110high hurdles - 18:11
Discus - 119-6
Pole Vault 12-3 1/2
Javelin 155-2
1,500M - 5:98.2
The bulk of Calvin's track and field athletes will compete at the North Central
Invitational Thursday and Friday
