*The Calvin men's basketball team returns to action on Saturday when it
travels to Tri-State University for a 3:00 p.m. non-conference game. There
will be no RealAudio internet broadcast of the game via Calvin's web site but
the game will be broadcast in the Grand Rapids area on WFUR 102.9 FM.
*Calvin leads the all-time series with Hope 78-76 but Hope now holds a
19-point lead overall in the standings. Both teams could meet again next week
in the MIAA Tournament.
*Calvin senior Kevin Broene scored his 1,000th point in Wednesday's defeat,
becoming the 16th player in Calvin men's basketball history to do so.
*The Calvin women's basketball game at Adrian Saturday will be broadcast via
RealAudio on the Calvin web site at: WWW.Calvin.edu/sports beginning at 2:45
p.m.. Calvin sports information student assistants Ross Weener and Josh Miller
will call all of the action. Calvin will be playing for a share of its first
MIAA title since the 1998-99 season.
*The MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships kick off Thursday morning at East
Grand Rapids High School with Calvin serving as host. Prelims begin at
Thursday at 10:00 a.m.. Prelim results will be posted on the Calvin web site
early in the afternoon. Thursday's finals are scheduled to begin at 6:00
p.m..
