Calvin Sports Report Part Two For November 24, 2003
CALVIN PREPARES FOR BASKETBALL DOUBLEHEADER Tuesday
The Calvin Fieldhouse will get two scoops of Calvin hoops Tuesday evening as
the men's basketball team faces cross-town rival Aquinas at 5:30 p.m. in a
non-conference tilt with the women's team facing rival Hope at 7:30 p.m. in the
MIAA opener for both teams. A JV men's game between Calvin and Aquinas will
preceed the men's varsity game with a start time of 3:45 p.m..
The women's game will feature a pair of 2-0 teams and will mark the MIAA
coaching debut of first-year Calvin women's basketball coach John Ross. At the
Holiday Inn Tip-Off Tournament this past weekend, Calvin claimed double-digit
victories over host North Central (IL) and Coe College (IA). Junior guard
Kristen McDonald of Grand Rapids West Catholic High School and freshman forward
Lisa Winkle of Grand Rapids South Christian High School were both named to the
all-tournament team.
The Calvin men's basketball team split a pair of games at its own Calvin
Tip-Off Tournament last weekend, defeating Grace Bible and falling to Ohio
Northern. Calvin senior Chris Prins was named to the all-tournament team for
the third straight year.
Both games tomorrow will be broadcast over the Calvin web site via RealAudio
