    CALVIN SPORTS REPORT PART ONE FOR Thursday, MARCH 12, 2003

    WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

    ATLANTA, GA — A pair of Calvin swimmers have advanced to Thursday night's
    consolation finals at the NCAA III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at
    Emory University.

    In the 50 freestyle, senior Katie Nagelkirk of Holland Christian High School
    advanced to the consolation finals for the second straight year with a time of
    24.25 that proved to be the 14th-best time of the morning preliminaries.

    In the 200 IM, freshman Abby Johnson of Grand Haven High School posted a time
    of 2:09.69 that proved to be the 12th-best time of the preliminary heats. Her
    time was also less than four-tenths of a second off her own school record
    (2:09.32) in the event.

    Thursday's finals are slated to start at 6:30 p.m. this evening.
