    CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR SATURDAY, MARCH 1

    WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

    Two members of the Calvin women's swimming and diving team have earned spots in
    the NCAA III Championship meet March 13-15 in Atlanta, Georgia, at Emory
    University.

    Representing Calvin will be senior Katie Nagelkirk and freshman Abby Johnson.
    A native of Zeeland and a graduate of Holland Christian High School, Nagelkirk
    will be making her fourth straight trip to the NCAA III Championships. Johnson
    is from Grand Haven and is a graduate of Grand Haven High School. She will be
    making her first trip to the NCAA III Championships.

    Nagelkirk is scheduled to compete in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events. She
    is seeded 12th in the 50 freestyle (24.21), 19th in the 200 freestyle (1:54.90)
    and seventh in the 100 freestyle (52.20). A year ago, Nagelkirk took ninth in
    the 50 and 100 freestyle at the NCAA III Championships to earn honorable
    mention All-America recognition in both events.

    Nagelkirk has also reaped All-America honors as a member of Calvin's 200
    freestyle relay team that finished seventh at the 2001 NCAA III Championships.
    In addition, she has been a part of seven Calvin relay teams that have posted
    honorable mention All-America performances at the NCAA III Championships during
    her career.

    Johnson is scheduled to compete in the 200 IM and 400 IM. She is seeded 13th
    in the 200 IM (2:09.32) and 20th in the 400 IM (4:37.25). She may also compete
    in either the 100 or 200 butterfly events. She is seeded 25th in the 200
    butterfly (2:10.76) and 31st in the 100 butterfly (59.57).
