CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR NOVEMBER 1, 2002
Grand Rapids – Calvin men’s swimming and diving team dominated their
opening MIAA meet against Alma, which ended with a score of 165-35. The Knights
won all of the 12 events for the evening and took first, second, and third in
six of them.
On the women’s side, Calvin was also able to knock off the Scots by a score
of 150-55. The ladies took eleven first place finishes out of the twelve events
on their way to their first meet win of the young season. The 100m backstroke
was the only event the Knights were unable to claim victory in.
The teams will be back in action on Saturday, November 9, when they host
Wheaton at the Bergsma Natatorium.
