    CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR MARCH 2, 2002

    WOMEN'S SWIMMING

    Calvin will be sending five members of its women's swimming and diving team to
    the NCAA III Championships scheduled for March 11-13 in Oxford, Ohio. The
    national meet will be held at the University of Miami with the College of
    Wooster serving as host.

    Heading to the NCAA III Championships from Calvin are seniors Erin Kloostra and
    Kate Conrad juniors Katie Nagelkirk and Mara McGuin and sophomore Brittney
    Stevens.

    Kloostra and Conrad will be making their fourth straight trips to the NCAA III
    Championships while Nagelkirk is making her third straight appearance. McGuin
    and Stevens are headed to the national meet for the first time. Kloostra is a
    graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School while Conrad prepped at Calvin
    Christian High School. McGuin is from Oak Park, Ilinois and is a graduate of
    River Forest High School. Stevens is from Mankato, Minnesota and is a graduate

    Nagelkirk will compete for Calvin in the 50 and 100 freestyle events. The 2002
    MIAA Most Valuable Swimmer, Nagelkirk is seeded seventh in the 50 freestyle
    (23.97) and 10th in the 100 freestyle (52.33).

    Kloostra, Conrad, Nagelkirk and Stevens will compete together in the 200
    freestyle relay which is seeded eighth with a time of 1:36.82. Kloostra,
    Conrad, Nagelkirk and McGuin will then form Calvi's 400 freestyle relay which is
    seeded eighth with a time of 3:34.17.

    A year ago, Calvin posted its first-ever top-20 team finish at the NCAA III
    Championships as the Knights finished 19th with 42 points.
