Editors note: an error was made in the list of total qualifiers in the first
Calvin sports report sent regarding the NCAA III Championships. The Calvin men
will send 11 individuals to the national meet, bringing the total number of
Calvin athletes (between men and women) to 21. The missing individual from the
first report is Calvin distance runner Dan Hoekstra. Hoekstra's bio follows.

DAN HOEKSTRA--Hoekstra will be making his second trip to the NCAA III Outdoor
Track and Field Championships after missing the 2000 track and field season with
an injury. Hoekstra qualified for the 1999 national meet and earned All-America
honors in the 5,000 meter run, placing seventh in the event. A native of
Kalamazoo (Kalamazoo Christian High School), Hoekstra will compete in the 10,000
meters and 5,000 meters this weekend. Hoekstra is seeded second in the 10,000
meters (30:27.00) and 10th in the 5,000 meters (14:46.41). This spring,
Hoekstra earned All-MIAA track and field honors for the second time in his
career as he captured the league title in the 5,000 meter run. This past fall,
Hoekstra was named the MIAA's MVP in cross country and continued on to finish
2nd at the NCAA III Cross Country Championships in Spokane, Washington.
