REL-241   General Church History

A survey of the history of the Christian church from its beginning to the present time, noting deviations from apostolic faith and practice, the interplay with the political, the great church councils, the crises that emerge, divisions and reunions, and the confluence of forces that determine the complexion of the Christian church today. Not to be taken if students have taken or plan to take religion 243 or 244. Prerequisite: Religion 121 or 131.
