Operations and Supply Chain Management Faculty, Full-time

Calvin College is seeking a full-time regular faculty member to join the Business Department to teach Operations and Supply Chain Management and related courses, beginning in August 2019.  The opening is at a rank consistent with applicant credentials and experience.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Faculty members are expected to demonstrate excellent teaching ability and a track record of (or strong potential for) scholarly work. All areas of operations expertise will be considered. Successful candidates will have either 1) a PhD or other terminal degree in operations and supply chain management or allied field or 2) a master’s degree in business or related field and five or more years of applicable experience. The department seeks persons who are dedicated to the integration of their Christian faith and operations and supply chain management.

FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES

The standard faculty load is 21-24 semester hours distributed over two semesters and a January interim term. Faculty members are expected to pursue an active scholarship agenda, to advise undergraduate students, and to serve on college and departmental committees.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS PROGRAM

The Business Department serves over 550 undergraduate students and offers bachelor’s degrees in accounting, finance, human resource management, and marketing. The department offers interdisciplinary degrees in actuarial science, graphic design, information systems, kinesiology sports management, and organizational communication. The department also offers minors in accounting, business, entrepreneurship, and supply chain management.  Finally, the department offers a Master of Accounting degree.  These programs feature significant elements of experiential learning along with strong academic components.  The department is made up of fourteen full-time faculty members all with both industry experience and teaching experience, many with terminal degrees.  The department faculty value creativity and teamwork in helping students learn.
