Full-time, Tenure-track or Term Business Faculty Opening
Management, Entrepreneurship, or Supply Chain
Calvin College is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member to join its Business Department in August 2018, pending administrative approval. The department is especially interested in expanding its expertise in management, entrepreneurship and supply chain.
Faculty members typically teach three class sections in each of the fall and spring semesters as well as a January interim course, actively pursue a scholarship agenda, advise undergraduate students, and serve on college and departmental committees. Teaching will be primarily in either management, entrepreneurship or supply chain, with possibly some class sections of the introductory business course or business capstone course.
Faculty members are expected to demonstrate excellent teaching using a variety of methods and instructional technology. Tenure track candidates are required to demonstrate a track record or potential for scholarly work. In addition, candidates should have experience or an ability to effectively guide experiential learning in the business capstone course.
Successful candidates will hold one of the following credentials: i) a PhD or other terminal degree in a business discipline, ii) a master’s degree in a business discipline, a relevant professional licensure, and three years of relevant business experience, or iii) a master’s degree in a business discipline and five years of relevant business experience.

About the Business Program
The Business Department has over 500 undergraduate students enrolled in its four primary programs: BS Accountancy, BS Accountancy with a major in global management accounting, BA Business (with concentrations in entrepreneurship, finance, human resources, marketing, and operations), and BA Organizational Communications. In addition, the department launched a Master of Accounting program in Fall 2017. These programs feature significant elements of experiential learning along with strong academic components. The department has fourteen full-time faculty members all with both industry experience and teaching experience, and many with terminal degrees. The faculty value creativity and teamwork in helping students learn. Calvin College also has the Calvin Center for Innovation in Business, which is associated with the department and which supports scholarship, pedagogical development and engagement with the business community via course releases and summer support.
