Welcome, Knights!
We’re thrilled for you to get to know campus and make Calvin your home away from home.
Orientation will help you get connected to our vibrant community and equip you to make the most of your time here at Calvin.
Starting Calvin in Spring?
All first-year or transfer students—we have orientation planned for you!
On-campus students can move in on January 17 from 9-11am.
Orientation check-in will take place at 1pm.
We'll send you more information in email but reach out if you have questions: orientation@calvin.edu.
Summer Orientation
For students starting fall semester
If you’re a new first-year student starting in the fall, you will follow a three-step experience that includes Summer Orientation, Course Registration, and Fall Welcome.
Transfer students have Orientation and Welcome Week right before classes start.
Not sure? Your New Student Portal will tell you which group you've been assigned.
For most local first-year students and those able to travel to Grand Rapids:
- June 9
- June 20
- June 27
Families are invited—encouraged!—to join.
If you live over 150 miles from campus, this option is available for first-year students:
- Morning, afternoon, and evening sessions.
Course Registration
3-Minute Questionnaire
This form will ask you about your academic interests and what languages you have studied. This form is quick and easy!
Fall Course Registration Form
This form is a little longer, but you can tell us what you have already studied, and what classes interest you. This is where you will tell us extracurricular interests, too!
These forms are found on your New Student Portal. Watch for messages from the Center for Student Success sent to your Calvin email address. Their team will guide you through these steps!
