Appointments during COVID-19

As of March 16, 2020, Calvin courses have gone online in a preventive measure to slow the spread of COVID-19. The Rhetoric Center, in cooperation with Calvin's new situation, will be providing online services. Please sign up here and a RC consultant will be able to help you via Microsoft Teams.

To sign up for an appointment, stop by the RC, call 616-526-7088, or email with your preferred times. Feel free to drop in; staff members who don't have appointments booked will be happy to help you on the spot. (Warning: we're very busy the last 2 weeks of the semester; make an appointment to be sure of getting the attention you need.)

We are located in Hekman Library 207, near the library reference desk.

On class days (during both the fall and spring semesters), our hours are as follows:

  • Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Rhetoric Center basics

The Rhetoric Center provides free assistance with composing written, visual, and oral assignments for classes or for extracurricular projects. We work with students from all majors with all kinds of papers, speeches, or artwork, in any stage of the creative process. Come to talk about your ideas, to work on organization and structure, to get feedback from an attentive audience, or to work on editing final drafts.
