“No other group of people has access to so many Americans on a sustained basis.”

Political science professor Corwin Smidt in an interview with the Grand Rapids Press talks about how ministers possess the power to sway the political tendencies of their congregations. In 2011, Smidt, thanks to a Fulbright Award, will write a book on the evolution of political and theological perspectives of U.S. clergy during the past 20 years. He will be stationed in Middelburg, the Netherlands, at the Roosevelt Study Center.
